This is a great place to get ice cream in the summer. It’s just a bit too cold for ice cream now – which is why so many islanders go to warmer grounds in the winter months. Just think in the summer the temperature always feel about 10 degrees cooler than the main land but in the winter that extra polar blasts are bone chilling. Time to light a fire and kick back and watch a good movie.
Island Life
Nantucket Library
Beautiful picture of the Nantucket Library in the winter. First blue sky in a very long time – so glad to see it! Can’t wait for summer.
Brotherhood of Thieves
The Brotherhood of Thieves, established in 1972 by Arthur Krause, is a restaurant and bar in Nantucket, Massachusetts with three unique dining areas: downstairs, a rustic 1840’s whaling bar, upstairs, a more traditional dining room perfect for private parties, and outside, a patio and biergarten showcasing local Nantucket beer, wine, and spirits. …
Delightful Gardens
Nantucket is home to many summer homes with absolutely delightful gardens. This photo by Trish Mannion-Smith captures the true beauty of a simple Nantucket garden. Many homes are covered with climbing roses and boost beautiful hues of pink and blue hydrangeas. ‘Sconset is known for it’s beautiful rose covered cottages and delightful summer homes.
Stormy Brant Point
Nantucket has seen it’s fair share of stormy winter weather this year. While it makes it a little difficult to get around the island (4-wheel drive is a must) – it is lovely to see some snow. It will make for a beautiful spring!
Nantucket Winter Wonderland
The island is pure serenity in the winter months and with the latest storm – a beautiful winter wonderland! While the summer offers a vibrant pulse of energy, the winter months bring with it peace, calm, and serenity. A time to reflect on what is really important to us: friends, family and a good read from Nantucket Bookworks. One of our favorite places to find a good new book to cozy-up to during these cold blustery days. photo source: unknown
