Nantucket Island is only five miles wide and 14 miles long, but offers such a diverse area to explore. The town of Nantucket is a quaint New England village with its cobblestone streets, bustling wharfs and over 3,000 historic homes from the whaling period. Visitors are welcomed by the Brant Point lighthouse at the opening of Nantucket Harbor, which anchors the lovely seaside neighborhood. The popular Jetties Beach is not far from here and is frequented by many visitors. It offers a beautiful sandy beach with calm waters, lifeguards, restrooms and changing facilities. Jetties Beach is where the Boston Pops hold their Annual Summer Concert and the 4th of July fireworks can be viewed. At the east end of the island, charming ‘Sconset Village features rose-covered cottages, amazingly beautiful summer homes, golf courses and the Sankaty Lighthouse.

At the east end of the island, charming ‘Sconset Village features rose-covered cottages, amazingly beautiful summer homes, golf courses and the Sankaty Lighthouse.  At the west end, is Madaket, with fabulous beaches and sunsets that warm the heart.  This area also offers great anchorage for small boats, and bountiful fishing for surf casters.  Some of our favorite places to explore like Great Point and Coatue require a 4-wheel drive vehicle with a beach permit. These areas can be accessed at the intersection of Wauwinet and Squam roads.  The Wauwinet area is extremely beautiful, private and peaceful.  Not everyone gets to enjoy this area but if you have access to a 4-wheel drive with a beach permit you should definitely explore Great Point and Coatue.

Heart of Nantucket is a lifestyle destination for people who live life salty. We encourage you to escape to a life of travel so life doesn’t escape you. Explore, be adventurous, travel, love one another and as Bob Marley once said, “Love the Life you Live, Live the Life you Love.”
