On a short stroll down Old South Wharf, I found myself drawn to a chalkboard sign that read “Local Handcrafted – Artisan Gifts & Goods.” With an old Nantucket basket hanging on the door and a framed garden of succulents, I knew I had to check out the goods at 22 Old South Wharf.
I was immediately drawn to the curated selections of handcrafted wood carved whales and hand-painted scallop shells. Along with the works of other local artisans and craftspeople, their offerings include eco-friendly home décor, pottery, gifts, personal care items, local sourced artisan foods, jewelry, art and antiques. Tafari Organics is a true celebration of authenticity, community and quality design.
On Saturdays, Alana Cullen sells delicious goods, including dipping oils, vinegars, artisan bread, plum berry jam, sauces, and so much more at the Farmers and Artisans Market in the heart of Nantucket. In addition, here husband, Marcus, a woodworker – crafts a variety of gifts including cutting boards, knives, bowls and whales. Together they create organic body products, soaps, and more.
