Figawi Weekend is Here

May 23rd – 25th 2015 is the 44th Annual Figawi Race.

The Kickoff Party begins at the Hyannis Yacht Club on Friday May 22nd at 3:00 p.m. where competitors, family, friends and Figawi fans gather to celebrate the weekend festivities. Early Saturday morning, crews begin gathering and preparing their boats.  The races begin between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. depending on their handicapped start time. The Figawi Race kicks of the Cape Cod and Nantucket summer season and is recognized as a top sailing event both nationally and internationally. 

Approximately 200 plus sailboats in 13 divisions compete across Nantucket Sound, in various courses, to be the first one to reach Nantucket. The best spot to watch all the action is on the beach at Brant Point Light.  They finish at the entrance of Nantucket Harbor and the boats parade into the Nantucket Boat Basin.  Sunday is a perfect day to enjoy Nantucket whether you are shopping around town, walking the docks, or dining at the local restaurants.  The island will welcome over 3,500 visitors over Figawi Weekend!
